The Last Centurion
June 24th, 2101. At last, after 14 days traveling, we finally docked on a station on Truvarian. As we entered the station, we were met by three men, all looking extremely worn out. Their leader introduced himself as Elias, a chancellor of sorts on the planet Truvarian. To prove us his legitimacy, he showed us a tattoo on his left forearm, a strange marking from a land foreign to us. It bears the sign of a cross with a skull of some sort of horned animal. Elias told us that he was a Centurion, a guardian of this galaxy. I had never met a Centurion before. I read years ago that Centurions had mythical powers…the power to see the future, to gaze into one’s soul…
Elias brought some bad news to our company. He explained how long he had served as Truvarian’s leader and how he would communicate with the other Centurions, establishing a universal order, if you will. They all aligned their ruling power and had a grasp of establishing peace. This was all before the incident though. Although here we are on a different planet in a different galaxy…the incident on Earth was not quite an accident, and it proved to be worse news than previously thought.
He sighed as he further dove into the matter at hand. Elias said that the nuclear holocaust on Earth was not an accident, but an intergalactic “terrorist” attack. He explained that Earth was not the only planet hit by a massive holocaust. The planets governed by the Centurions were attacked too, all at the same time. Elias said that every other Centurion in existence perished in these raids. Lamenting over his fallen brothers, Elias told us that he was the last remaining Centurion, the last remaining peace balancer.
