The Fourth Dimension
June 25th, 2101. We awoke the next morning to Elias and his men approaching our makeshift sleeping area. Lykos and I stumbled to our feet to greet him. The Centurion asked to speak to me in private, and I obliged. He told me about what exactly we are up against, what exactly has been destroying our civilizations. Elias told me of some sort of alien race, ones that were previously thought extinct. Elias only referred to them as the Shadow. It must be a codeword or something, as no one really knows what exactly they are.
I asked Elias why he wasn’t able to foresee this massive attack on all these Centurions, and he sighed with a look of slight desperation on his face. He told me that to be able to clearly foresee an exact attack like this would have required all of the Centurions to “link up” with each other and visually map it out together. This did not happen, and once the other Centurions were attacked, Elias’ foresight grew extremely weak.
Once Elias informed me of this bit of information, I asked him how the Shadow were able to attack all these Centurions at one time. He chuckled a little bit and looked me dead in the eye. Elias said that they exist within different boundaries than simple humans. They are able to weave in and out of another dimension, able to plot attacks and fast-travel in an instant. Elias refers to this as the Fourth Dimension, a realm we cannot witness or comprehend. Great.
